What to know before buying

The L/XL wording covers a range, not two separate guaranteed fits. Check the listed length and neck independently.

Neck circumference, chest circumference and back length describe different aspects of fit. A broad neck range does not tell you whether a cape will drag, and a brand’s small or XXL label cannot be transferred to another brand. Compare the stated dimensions with your pet rather than selecting from a breed photo or weight estimate alone.

Start with the pet’s measurements and tolerance

For this product: Measure from the neck to the desired cape endpoint and confirm the fabric leaves the tail and legs free.

Introduce the simplest part first and watch the pet’s response. Keep vision, breathing, walking and tail movement unobstructed, supervise any wear and remove the outfit if it causes discomfort. A brief photograph may suit an accessory that would not be appropriate for a long outing. Separate hats and glasses can be omitted if the pet tolerates only a cape or bandana.
